Personal Best Karate
On Wednesday, the kindergarten, first, and second graders enjoyed a presentation by Mr. Mosca from Personal Best Karate in Norwood! Mr. Mosca discussed the importance of respect and self-discipline, while also teaching the children appropriate ways to stand up for themselves. Personal Best Karate will be running an after school program for students which will be starting in a few weeks. Information about this program was sent home with your child at the end of last week. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Literacy
Last week in Literacy we read the book Life in the Ocean by Carol K. Lindeen. This book helped us discuss the question, "What is in an ocean environment?". We also review the letter A and were introduced to two new sight words "have" and "is". In Fundations we learned about the letters D and S.

A lot of great learning was happening at Literacy Centers this week!

Math
In math we continued to practice comparing and ordering numbers 0-5. We learned the new math vocabulary words more, fewer, same as, column, and row and also used a tool called a ten frame!

Number practice was in full swing as the class participated in Math Center this week.

Mrs. Tilton Visits
We were excited to welcome Mrs. Tilton back to Room 202 for another visit last week! During her lesson Mrs. Tilton continued to teach us about expected and unexpected behaviors. The class did a great job of showing examples of each when you are out on the playground.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at our week. Please check back soon to see all that is new in Room 202!
