Animal Research Project
Over the last several weeks the Kindergarten classes have been working with Mrs. Moses to complete their own animal research projects in Media/Stem! Using the platform Pebble Go!, each child selected an animal and worked to find many interesting facts about it. Click here to see their work come to life!
ABC Countdown
It was another busy week for our ABC Countdown! Last week the class enjoyed dance, Elephant and Piggie, friendship, game, and hat days. Please enjoy a few pictures from our fun (and also educational!) activities.

Curriculum Update:
Reader's Workshop
Last week in Reader's Workshop we continued module (unit) 8 titled From Plant to Plate, and worked hard to answer the essential question: "How do plants become food?" We enjoyed reading the books PB&J Hooray! by Janet Nolan, and Growing Vegetable Soup by Lois Ehlert. Both texts explored where the foods we like to eat come from. In addition to these stories the children also practiced identifying the central idea of a text, and putting events in order (sequencing).
Phonics
In phonics the students learned about words with ending blends such as sand and camp. We also practiced reading the sight/heart word want.
Math
Last week in math the children continued to practice counting by tens and ones, and were introduced to new place value manipulatives! Counting by tens in ones is something we have been doing all year during Number Corner, and it is amazing to see how much progress the class has made with this skill!
Science
It continues to be an exciting time for science as we enjoyed watching our caterpillars form their chrysalises last week! The countdown is on for when they emerge as beautiful butterflies and we couldn't be more excited! 🦋
Thanks so much for taking a peek at our week! Please check back soon to watch us learn, grow, and play in the wonderful world that is K! 🍎📖🚌
