Black and Orange Day ๐งก๐ค
The class had a great time showing their spirit on Black and Orange Day! Click the links below to hear us sing both our orange and black color songs. Also watch closely as we learned the signs for both of these colors in American Sign Language!

Curriculum Update:
Into Reading
Last week we read the books Snail and Worm Again by Tina Kugler and Pete the Cat Too Cool for School by Kimberly and James Dean as we continued to answer the question: What makes each of us special? We also learned about synonyms and antonyms, and identified the problem and solution in the stories we read.
Fundations
In Fundations the students learned about the last two "magic c" letters d and s. We also practiced reading the sight/heart words an and can, and learned the color word black.
Math
Last week in math we continued to explore numbers 0-10. Our week began by learning about tally marks and how they can be helpful for organizing our numbers and counting by fives. The class had a great time representing numbers 5-10 by using popsicle sticks as tally marks!
Thank you to Mr. Dearborn who stopped by for a little pre-tally mark making fun!
We used the poem/chant "1, 2, 3, 4, number 5 shuts the door" to help us remember that our fifth tally mark should be diagonal, making a set of tally marks look like a gate!
SEL
We enjoyed another wonderful SEL lesson with Mrs. Audet last week! The focus of October's lesson was identifying feelings.
