Field Day T-Shirts
A friendly reminder that the Boyden PAC will be providing each student with a t-shirt to wear for Field Day! Please email me your child's size if you have not already done so. Thanks so much for your help! :)
Taiko Thunder
A big Boyden "Thank You" to the performers from Taiko Thunder who put on a wonderful assembly for us! We learned SO much about the Japanese culture and were in awe of their amazing drum playing and story-telling abilities. It was also exciting to see some friends from our class also get a chance to test our their drumming skills!
The Kindergarten students did a FANTASTIC job performing Tony Chesnut at the school-wide assembly before the break! This was a Boyden tradition for many years prior to COVID, and one we were SO excited to bring back! Click here to watch us in action!
Curriculum Update:
Fundations:
Before the break we practiced reading the sight words my and by. We also continued to read words with the digraphs sh, th, ch, wh and ck!
Making our own bathtub crafts was a fun way to practice writing and reading words with the TH digraph.
Math
In math the class continued to finds ways to make numbers to ten! The students below worked together to find the six different number combinations that make 5.
Writing
It has been an exciting time in writing as the children have started taking their skills to the next level! Before the break we completed our unit on "How To" writing, and started a new Mystery Sentence activity! This engaging partner task combines reading, listening, writing, and drawing skills all in one!
