X-Ray Fun!
A BIG Boyden thank you to Mrs. Deb Haskins who visited Kindergarten last week and showed us some super awesome x-rays! This was a great way to review the letter 'X' that we learned about a few weeks ago. Thank you Mrs. Haskins!

Curriculum Update

Literacy
The theme of our learning for the past few weeks has been 'Going Places', and the children have had a great time discussing how people in different parts of the world travel and go to school. We have also been learning about the letters 'V' and 'Z' and practicing our last two sight words come and where!

Making mini volcanoes was the perfect activity for 'V' week!

Math
In math we continued our unit on measurement! As a result of last week's lessons, your child has now learned how to compare two objects by height (tall vs short), weight (heavy vs light), and capacity (more vs less).

The students above worked hard to glue the "friends" in order by height.

These students had a blast experimenting with capacity and weight during Math Centers!

Science
Last week in science we starting a very exciting unit on seeds! As a class we discussed what we think we already know about seeds, as well as what we would like to learn throughout the unit. We then "planted" our own seeds using a plastic bag and a wet paper towel. We are eager to find out if our seeds will grow without the presence of sunlight and soil! Stay tuned!

Crazy Hat and Hair Day!
Crazy Hat and Hair day was the perfect way to end a very busy week! I LOVED seeing all the creative hats and hairdos. A BIG 'thank you' to the Student Council for planning such a fun event!

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at our week! Please check back soon to see all that
                                                                is new in Room 202!
